The following information is adapted from the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification website.
- How much is it going to cost to apply?
Currently, the cost to apply for your concealed carry permit is $65.25. That application fee covers the BCI processing fee plus a FBI fingerprint check. You’ll also need to obtain one passport quality photo and one complete set of fingerprints. There’s two ways to go about getting these items for your application. You can (1) go to a local business and obtain your passport photo (usually around $10) and then go to your local police station to obtain a fingerprint card (about $10) or (2) you can go to BCI to do both (BCI charges $13.00 for the photo and $13.00 for the fingerprint card). Taking care of everything out at BCI is convenient because you know that the product they produce won’t be rejected. However, if going out to West Salt Lake isn’t convenient, you can still accomplish everything that you need to in your local area.
