We are hosting a Utah Concealed Carry Class in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. The class will run from 6-10pm on Monday, August 16th and will be held at AFSCME LOCAL 3567 on US RT 24 on the West edge of Mt. Sterling. Here is a map:

Why should you get a Utah Concealed Firearm Permit?

To start off, your Utah permit is valid in over 30 states. That means that you will be able to carry a fully loaded, concealed firearm in a state where your permit is recognized (Colorado, Florida, Michigan and New Hampshire only recognize the Utah permit from Utah residents). Take a look at the following map to see where the Utah permit is recognized. States with a Black color recognize the Utah permit.

Cost:

The class will cost $75 and prepayment is required to reserve your seat (Google Checkout Button below). In addition to the 4 hour class, you will receive everything that you need to get your Utah permit (fingerprints, passport photo and a photocopy of your driver license). After the course is over, our instructor will hand deliver the application for you. Space is limited and classes are filling up fast so register below to reserve your seat. In addition to the $75 for the class + materials, you will have to pay the State of Utah $65.25 for the actual permit (the State accepts checks and credit cards). You can send that payment along with our instructor to Utah. You can prepay for the class here with a credit card.

Know where to start?

• First of all, there are certain requirements that the state of Utah has set in order for you to get your concealed carry permit.
• Here’s a list of Utah Concealed Carry requirements:

1. You must be at least 21 years of age to receive your Utah Concealed Carry permit.
2. You can’t have any of the following convictions:
3. Felony
4. Violent crime
5. Offense involving alcohol**
6. Illegal use of controlled substances or narcotics**
7. Moral turpitude (crimes against community morals)**
8. Domestic Violence
9. **Please note that some offenses require a waiting period but do not preclude getting a permit.
10. If a court has adjudicated you as mentally incompetent then you are not allowed to obtain your Utah concealed carry permit

We are now offering the course for you to get your Florida CCW in Chillicothe, IL at Wolf Hollow Archery and at the Chillicothe Sportsman’s Club. The cost of the course will get you everything that you need to apply for the Florida CCW (fingerprints, photo, etc). The class is a two night class and will include shooting. We will have the first class on Monday night (6-10pm) at Wolf Hollow and then shoot on Tuesday night (6-8:30). You will need to bring your own firearm as well as ammunition (at least 50 rounds and FOID card). You should plan on bringing money for the range as well (it should be around $10 unless you are a member of the club). Space is limited to 15 people so please pay below to reserve your spot. PLEASE NOTE that if you have served in the military, you do not need to attend this course (Florida will accept your DD214). Also, you will need to pay the $117 application to Florida after completion of the course. Lastly, the main reason for someone in Illinois to get the Florida permit is so they can carry concealed in Florida. If carrying in Florida is not your primary concern, you should register for one of the Utah CCW courses on Saturday. Please feel free to contact with any questions you may have.

We will have the first class on Wednesday night (6-10pm) at the hotel and then shoot on Thursday night (6-8:30). You will need to bring your own firearm as well as ammunition (at least 50 rounds and FOID card). You should plan on bringing money for the range as well (it should be around $25). Space is limited to 15 people so please pay below to reserve your spot. PLEASE NOTE that if you have served in the military, you do not need to attend this course (Florida will accept your DD214). This two evening course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.
